Fabric do I cut?

by Lynette
(Pagham)

Hello Carol, what a fantastic website.

I am a complete novice to hardanger and have gone ahead and purchased 22 count hardanger White material 50x55cm.

The first hardanger project you have set requires the material to be 6 inch square. Do I cut my material first or just work in one corner of the material?

Sorry to appear so silly .

Cut the fabric to size for ease
by: Carol

Thank you Lynette,

I appreciate your comments on the site.

How wonderful that you are trying out Hardanger for the first time. Thank you for using my patterns to learn with.

When undertaking a small design such as my first project in the free Learn Hardanger course, it is easier to cut a piece of fabric to size. This will be more comfortable to hold and work on, than the full sized piece.

Regards, Carol
