What is the correct needle to use for 16 ct Aida fabric? How many strand of embroidery thread should be used for this count.

The recommended needle to use for 16ct Aida would be a number 26 tapestry needle, Janice. However, you may prefer to use a finer number 28.

The number of strands is really down to either personal preference or the suggestion of the pattern designer. Normally either 1 or 2 strands would be recommended for 16 count Aida, with the latter more common. It really depends on whether you want a solid or more airy looking coverage to your work.
