What is a Tuck Pillow or Tuck Ornament?

by Mary

What is a tuck pillow or tuck ornament and how do you cross stitch on it? It may be a silly question, but I am wondering.

Thanks!

The idea of the "tuck" pillow/ornament is that the stitched piece can be taken out and changed to another stitched piece. So you have one finish -- the tuck pillow, and can display it with several different stitched designs throughout the year. It's only recently that the tuck pillow itself has begun to have a "seasonal" fabric. You can web search tutorial for tuck pillow and find directions on making your own, they are not difficult at all.

Hi!
I just purchased a couple of tuck ornaments, but haven't received them yet. The picture showed the aida surrounded by fabric. Hopefully, when I receive them I will be able to figure out how to stitch on the aida.

Thanks for responding!

Tuck Pillow/Ornament
by: LuAnn

What I believe you are talking about is a pillow or ornament that you "tuck" a piece of stitching into to finish. You stitch your pattern on whatever fabric you desire and then you "tuck" it into the pocket of the pillow or ornament. You can see a couple that I made at http://luschwa.multiply.com/photos/album/16/Misc._Crafts#10
