using waste fabric

by Nancy

I have a pattern which says...

aida 11 finished design will be 5 1/2 x 5 1/2
aida 14 finished design will be 4 1/4 x 4 1/4

I want to use DMC waste canvas...it says it is a 25ct/in..

How do I measure how much canvas to use, and get the center?

The pattern count is 60 x 61

Using Waste Fabric

To calculate the finished size, divide the finished count by the fabric thread count. Example:
60 divided by 25 = 2.4. That means the finished piece will be 2.4" or about 2 and 3/8. If this smaller than you would like, consider working over two threads of your waste canvas. You would divide 25 by 2 so you would be working it as a 12.5 count. 60 divided by 12.5 would come out to 4.8".
