Transfering a Jobelan 32 count to a 16 count Aida fabric

by Andrea
(Missouri)

I have a pattern that calls for a 32 count Jobelan fabric, but I was going to use a 16 count Aida instead. How would this affect the size of the piece? Would the size of the piece stay the same?

Carol answers
If you are stitching over 2 fabric threads then, yes, the design should turn out the same size overall, Andrea. However, do check that the design can be stitched on Aida. If part of the design is stitched over 1 fabric thread then that would be more difficult to undertake on an Aida cloth. Fractional stitches may also prove more problematic, although they are possible.
