There are so many different kinds of embroidery! First, you need to look at the different types and see what appeals to you visually. Then you must consider how much effort or work are you willing to go to do do a piece and yourself some questions.
Do you need to be able to buy your supplies locally?
What is available where you live?
How patient are you?
Do you require the pattern to be on the material, like stamped cross stitch and surface embroidery or painted canvas needlepoint?
