thread size for hardanger

i was wondering if I could use pearl cotton number 8 for the whole thing? The number 5 isn't available at the store right now. I will be stitching my hardanger on 22 and 24count fabrics.

On 22 or 24 count fabric the number 8 pearl cotton will not be thick enough to work the satin stitch kloster blocks for your design, I'm afraid.

If you dropped to 27 or 32 count fabric you could use number 8 for the klosters and number 12 pearl cotton for the needleweaving and lacy work.

Could you perhaps try ordering some number 5 online?
