substiituting fabric

I have a 14 count aida fabric, can I exchange a 14 count mono fabric. I find the adia cloth is too small for me.

If your design does not include any fractional stitches then it should be possible to exchange the Aida for canvas with the same number of holes. Is it a cross stitch design that you are going to be working?
