Stuffing Needlepoint Nativity Figures

by Diane Roberts
(Houston, Texas)

I have spent a LONG time and finally finished a tiny Nativity... but I cannot find any instructions for stuffing and weighting them.

Paying for finishing is really expensive, but I don't want to do a crummy job myself.

Any help out there?

Thanks,
Diane

Finishing the nativity

You probably have already finished off, stuffed and weighted your nativity scene. If not, there are great step by step instructions at about.com. Just search for instructions for finishing stand up needlepoint figures.

Weighting Figures
by: Trudy

In the past I have used dry beans to weight down figures I have made. Example, I made candy corns dressed in Halloween costumes. I put the beans in first (about 2"), then added fiberfill. This allowed them to stand upright without falling over. Please post pictures after you are done, they sound lovely.
