Stitched Text on Sampler

by Sally
(Warwick UK)

Hello
I am thinking of buying the WinStitch software.
How would I insert text onto a sampler cross stitch pattern please?
Can I use fonts that I have purchased elsewhere on the Internet?
Thanks

Adding text to a design
by: Carol

Thank you for your question, Sally.

Yes, it is simple to add text to a design using either the WinStitch or MacStitch software. You can use any font that you have installed on your computer.

On the toolbar you will see a TT symbol, which when clicked, will open an overlay screen. On the left of this screen you will see a box into which you can type your text. Below that is a font picker so you can choose which font you would like to use, and you can also set the font size.

On the right is a graph area that will show you how the text will look when converted to cross stitch.

Once you are satisfied with your choice, you can click on the OK button.

This will take you back to the main window. The text will be "loaded" and will be placed wherever you click with the left mouse button.

If you wish to duplicate it and place it somewhere else, you can click on the left mouse button again. Once you are happy, click on a different tool in the tool box to "let go" of the text.

Regards,

Carol
