Star filler Stitch

Star filler Stitch

In the hardanger piece they have asked us to use the "star filler stitch" to fill the area. I can not find this stitch in the encyclopaedia of needlework.

It is possible they are referring to an Algerian Eye stitch, they often have many names for the same stitch. In my references this is the only one described as a star.

It is worth buying the New Anchor book of Hardanger embroidery stitches.
You will find instructions for Star Filler Stitch on page 39 in great detail.
