Sheila, it would help to know what color the pencil marks are; they are made from different kinds of pigments and some shades are easier to deal with than others. If it is blue, you stand a good chance of it all rinsing away as it may be one of those washable pencils. Anything with red, orange or purple may not come out. Try the needlework cleaner Restore, but do NOT leave it in very long, it is a bit harsh I have found on needlepoint and you must keep a close eye on it at all times. Good luck!
