pulling thread

Is hardanger the same as pulling thread =-----I'm a little confused

Carol answers...

Hardanger and pulled thread refer to two different kinds of needlework. However, some pulled thread stitches can be used in a hardanger design. For example four sided stitch is one that is often incorporated into a hardanger piece. As are eyelets.

In Hardanger you actually cut some of the threads and remove them to create the lacy effect. In pulled thread no fabric threads are cut, they are just pulled tightly together to create "holes".
