Personalizing a Baby Quilt

I have been working on a quilt for my first grandchild for almost a year. It is now time to add her name and birthdate.

The problem is the quilt was stamped cross stitch, doing the name and birthdate, I am not sure I'm going to get it straight and use the same size cross stitches. I don't want to mess it up.

It says for "personalization" use the alphabets and numbers provided. It mentions "waste canvas". Here is my question???? What is the best way to do the name and birthdate since it is a quilt?????

HELP - I'M ALMOST DONE AND I'M STUMPED!!!!!!

I'm ready to add the backing to the quilt and the silky and give it to my grand daughter.
