Mirror Image Needlepoint.

by Peter Francis Bunce
(China)

Can you please tell me how to stitch a pattern so that a mirror image of the pattern appears on the reverse side of the fabric?

I believe there is a form of cross-stitch for this.
Do you know of this or other stitches to achieve this effect?

Blackwork does mirror image
by: Chilly Hollow Needlepoint

Some forms of backstitch and running stitch are reversible. Blackwork is what this is normally called. Think of those huge Elizabethan ruffs and fancy cuffs on portraits of Queen Elizabeth I and her couriers.

Hope this helps!

There are only two techniques I know of. One is the Chinese style of Satin Stitching. The other is Reversible Cross Stitch."

You should be able to find instructions by doing a Search for either of those terms.
