how to remove a pop stain

I accidently spilled pop (soft drink) on my cross stitch fabric in the upper left corner and a small spot on the left bottom corner.

Is there a way to remove this stain now, and how do I do it?. I do not want to wait till it is done to wash it, because it bothers me and I am far along on the pattern that I do not want to start over.

The Fabric is Aida 14 count light blue.
