how do I remove pencil marks on cream Aida fabric

I am making a cross stitich on cream Aida fabric and my young daughter has scribbled HB pencil over a few areas of the Aida. I wonder if anyone can help me with how to remove it?

Have you tried erasing it?

Samantha,

You did not mention whether you had washed the Aida or not since your daughter practiced her artistic talents on it.

if not, I would suggest using a pencil eraser over the lines to see if that will help. You can buy electric erasers that work on battery power. I have used one of these on evenweave fabric, with success, in the past.

If you have already tried washing the piece then I do not think the eraser would work.

Truly, has no one got an answer? I marked the centres right through the middles of my work with an HB pencil and cannot get the lines out, I worked hours on this cross- stitch of a Sydney townhouse and would love to get it cleaned and framed...
