Hardanger fabric count and design size

by gail
(Surprise, AZ)

If I want to change the size of the fabric count on a project how do I calculate what the size will be. Example changing from 25 count to 32 count. What is the formula.

Gail, if you are changing the fabric count to one with a higher number of threads per inch, then the design would end up smaller than the original pattern states.

When working hardanger you won't be working over two threads as you would when doing cross stitch so it is easier to work out the finished size.

You may find that my cross stitch calculator will still be of use, however. You would need to enter the design size in stitches and the count of the new fabric to have it calculate the new size for you.

I hope this helps.

Regards,

Carol
