hand embrodery cut out work

My mother passed awhile ago, and she left a box of cut out work to be finished. This is the one thing she never taught me. There were no instruction with this work. I have call several librarys look for how to books but did not find anything. Do you know where I could look or contact for this information? Thank You Marti Bowser.
