Glue from the tape I used to bind my material to keep from raveling

by Sandra Clements
(Mt. Holly, NC)

I use tape on the edges of my material so that it doesn't ravel while stitching...however, when I removed the tape, there was residue (sticky) from the tape. How do I remove that?

Carol answers

Whenever I have bound fabric edges with tape I have tended to cut off that area, once the stitching was complete. Of course it is necessary to leave a little extra fabric around the design area in order to be able to do this.

Perhaps someone else can offer a solution to removing the residue if you do not have enough fabric around the edge to cut off.

Can anyone else offer any ideas for Sandra?
