Free Pears blackwork chart

My name is Trudy and I live in Tampa, Florida. I have been an obsessed and dedicated cross stitcher for many years. I have always been interested in blackwork, but have never found a chart or pattern that I felt compelled to stitch - until I found the X-Calibre site.
I was immediately drawn to the wonderful and imaginative designs. I purchased the Pearl and Coral charts, but knew them to be a bit ambitious for a black work beginner, so I printed out the free "Pears" chart, and got my feet wet with that. What fun it is to be learning a new technique after all these years of cross stitching!
I love the challenge of keeping the back tidy, as that shows me I am not just making the picture, but learning the technique.
I found the free chart and instructions to be very helpful, and easy to understand. I highly encourage anyone who has not worked this blackwork technique to give it a try.
I am so excited to have found this site, and look forward to jumping into the Pearl and Coral charts.
