Remove all color runs in threads, textiles or clothing by adding a capful of white vinegar to washing. Works every time!
White Vinegar is obtained by the fermentation process of fruit and/or wine. It works as a mild bleach as well as fabric softener.
Hope this of help to you.

Frustration by: Sheilasembroidery
Like you had a piece ruined. It was a large Hardanger piece done in Purple Caron Waterlilies and Wildflowers. On completion I followed the washing instructions and carefully washed, by hand, with soap flakes. the red in the thread stained each corner, it was obviously the red in the dye that ran. After all the work it was very frustrating and I never made the bell pull up into a final piece.
