embroidery floss stain

I spent hours embroidering my needlework and when I washed it the dye ran, leaving a pink stain all through the words in the middle of my picture. Any suggestions on how to get the dye stain out? I would sure appreciate it. Thank you! Karen

This has never happened to me, but I was once told that if you keep gently squeezing it under warm running water, the stain should eventually disappear, you must never wash pictures in soapy water, if my pictures look dusty I just do as I've told you to do and I have no problems, but if you have already done that, perhaps next time you buy the same floss, just put a few stitches on a small piece of material, and just rinse it under the tap, and if it still runs, then it's time to change your floss, good luck.
