Creating holes in fabric to attach crochet edging

When you are putting a crochet edge on a fabric you do not make all the holes for it first, you insert the hook into the cloth and make each one as you go along the edge. Although I generally prefer to use a Boye brand crochet hook, I use a Susan Bates hook to do edgings because they have a pointier hook tip than a Boye and it pushes through the cloth much easier.
