Coral 1930 Blackwork lady

by Trudy Cummins
(Tampa, FL)

I LOVE this design! I had so much fun stitching it.

As I was making it for my 21 year old daughter (who likes color and bling), I added red for the center of the flowers, the lips, the belt, the bows on the shoes and some stripes in the hat. I also made the necklace 2 strands, beaded the bracelet and added beads to the center of the flowers.

Framing
by: Trudy

As with Pearl, I'm leaving the framing to my daughter, definately triple matted to accomodate the beads, and a custom frame due to the size of the design. I will suggest to her to use gold for the innermost matte, then maybe a shade of grey, then black for the top matte. I'm seeing the frame as being black. But it will be her call.

Lovely adaptations!
by: Carol

Thank you for sharing your finished work with us Trudy. You have done a smashing job of Coral and I like your adaptations.

I always say that a design is only the designers view of things when she invents it. It is to be taken as a starting point and added to or altered to suit the stitcher, making it an unique piece of work.

I'm sure your daughter will love your efforts. How will she be framed?
