copyright of embroidery designs

Can we make copies of your projects for a class? We are a chapter in the Embroiderers' Guild of America, Inc.
Dear Dorothie,
Thank you so much for asking, many people don't understand copyright law.
I am delighted when groups like my embroidery designs enough to want to stitch them in a Guild situation. However, it takes time to come up with the concept for each design, sketch it out, draft it onto the computer, stitch it to make sure it works, then create the packaging or pdf in order to offer the design as a saleable commodity.
As I am unable to work outside the home I have to rely on my design skills to earn my living. I am however, happy to negotiate substantial discounts for purchases of a chart pack for Guild usage so please get in touch via email (or filling in the contact form on the site) and we can discuss which pattern(s) you like and the discount that I can offer.
If on the other hand your group wishes to use the free designs offered on this website that is fine. I would be delighted to help out in this way and would love to hear about how you all got on. If you wanted to share some photos on the Show and Tell page that would be fantastic.
Once again thank you for asking.
Regards,
Carol Leather
