colour conversion chart

i have a load of new threads but can't remember how to match all the colors up. So many numbers on patterns and different numbers on threads! its been a while but am so looking forward to first project. Hope you can help, many thanks,

Jennie, each manufacturer puts their own shade numbers on their threads to distinguish one color from another. The numbers on one brand bear no resemblance to the numbers on a different company's threads.
