Choosing perle cotton for 30 ct fabric

by Cathy C
(Rio Rancho NM - USA)

I am going to stitch some hardanger on 30 ct fabric but I wasn't sure what size perle cottons to use. I am thinking that size 8 and 12 would work well, but I wasn't sure. Can you help. Thank you

I would also use an 8 and a 12 perle thread on 30 count fabric, Cathy. If you were to use a 5 and 8 the work would be too chunky and lose its delicate appearance. I would only use the thicker threads on a 22 count hardanger cloth.

Hardanger

I agree with Carol I would definately use 12 & 8, I have never done Hardanger on anything less than 28 count - 30 count will really look very delicate
Good luck
