Bullion stitch on knitting

by Laurie
(Canada)

I need to do a Bullion stitch on a knitted standing snowman for his nose, so I'm not sure how to do it when it is not on fabric like you show in Roses or Strawberries?

You should be able to stitch in a similar manner on a knitted "fabric", Laurie. Ensure that your needle comes up in one place and down in another (over a strand of yarn) so that the stitch doesn't just pull right through to the back of the work.

Because knitting is "elastic" you won't have such a sturdy base as you would with cotton or other fabrics, so you won't be able to pull as tightly. Just ease the stitches into place gently. With care it is possible to get a nice bullion stitch on a knitted piece.
