Stitchin-Time Xmas 2007
December 22, 2007
Hi everyone,

This is a quick newsletter, but I just wanted to wish you a Happy Christmas and a merry New Year. I hope you get lots of stitching oriented pressies from Santa.

I have a little gift for you, but its not stitching related this time. On my Gluten Free site I have written a page all about cooking the Christmas turkey and trimmings. There are recipes for stuffings, veggies to accompany the meal and a handy turkey cooking time table. Even if you aren't a celiac you may find something helpful there. You will find it at: Gluten Free Christmas Dinner.

New Pages

I have added more pages to the site (one handed as you will read later) explaining how to work French knots, Rhodes stitch and cutwork embroidery. There is also a page showing how you can design your own blackwork fill patterns using Easy Cross software, along with a link to a video I created, showing how simple it is.

I also added a page explaining how to use a laying tool in response to a question in the "Needlework Questions" interactive section.

Panto update

I want to thank you for helping me decide what to do pantomime wise. I decided to continue being prompt as they need one and no-one else volunteered. Not quite up to making a fool of myself on stage yet :)

I had a slight (!) accident

Remember Skye? That tiny, cute little puppy of this time last year? Well, she has grown into a strapping young girl with energy to spare. On one of our walks a few weeks back something caught her eye in the hedge as we walked by. She obviously felt that she just HAD to investigate and lurched towards the hedge taking only my arm with her. Ouch! Ever heard a grown woman scream?

It turns out that she managed to damage the nerves running under my armpit and down my left arm. I have been in a lot of pain and many things have been impossible to do. The doctor kept giving me stronger and stronger painkillers, along with anti-sickness pills to counteract the side effects. Not nice! After 6 weeks I can now use the arm again for most things, just letting out the occasional squeak when it hurts! Cutting threads has been almost impossible so I apologize for any orders that went out late.

Thinking of your own website?

Oh I nearly forgot, if you are thinking of setting up a website of your own in the New Year, SBI the people who host (and a lot more besides) my sites are having a buy one get one free special offer at the moment. Pop over to my About Me page to find a link for more information (about half way down the page you will see a square graphic to click on). Yes, you can find hosts that are cheaper, but SBI gives so much more and helps people actually find the sites and even join in.

Well I said this was a quick newsletter, and I'm sure you have lots to do at this time of year rather than read my ramblings so I'll wish you all the best for the season, whatever occasion you celebrate at this time of year. See you in 2008.
