Stitchin'Time - sampler, snow and Skye
March 19, 2009

Thank you!

I must start this month's newlsetter by thanking everyone who pointed out to me after the last issue, that grapes and dogs do not go together! I was unaware of the danger I was putting poor Skye into, and will never again give her grapes to eat. I really do appreciate the e-mails you sent to let me know (at least I now know some of you do open and read your newsletters. (heehee).

The english weather

Has Spring sprung in your part of the world? Or are you just entering the Autumn months? Here in the UK the weather is improving, flowers are blooming and there are lambs in the fields. A bit better than the horrid white stuff that dropped from the sky last month... more in fact than we have had in the last 18 years! However, it did look so lovely, cloaking the village in a crisp, white mantle.

One member of the family loved it.

Skye decided that snow was the most wonderful stuff. She rolled in it, ate it and generally had fun, especially when my son Ben threw her snowballs to catch. She did look a bit confused when they disintegrated as she caught them. I just had to catch her on video.

The Village Panto

I know, I know our village runs to a different time scale than everyone else. Our pantomime is held in March rather than just before or after Christmas.

This year it was Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde, and I was the prompt again. Two weeks before the first performance I was dreading it, as lines still needed to be learned, the lyrics learned for the songs and costumes were still being made. I really didn't think we were going to be ready.

But I needn't have worried. It was allright on the night (and the next two nights and Saturday afternoon). In fact the audience said it was our best yet! So number 16 out of the way, I wonder what Tony will write for us next year?

Crazy Quilt Interactive page

Calling all crazy quilters!

I have had many e-mails from people wishing they could send a photo when using the contact form on the Web site. Sadly this isn't possible until I reply at which point you can attach a pic to your subsequent reply.

Now I have created a page where you can upload a photo of your latest crazy quilting projects straight to the site for others to admire. If you want help or advice or even just ideas of what to add next, you can post partly done blocks too. All we need is for someone to get the ball rolling....come on who is going to be first?

Whitework band sampler

This month we are working on the last but one band on the whitework sampler. Two new stitches for you this time, three sided stitch and ringed back stitch.

It is the ideal time to drop me a line to let me know what you would like to work on next. Any techniques you want a step by step on? Something you want to practise more of? Or just a surprise? Let me know, OK?

New ebook

I am still working hard on my new ebook.

This one will help any stitcher who has dabbled with designing their own patterns and thinks they may like to start up their own needlework design business.

Whether you want to design for magazines, produce kits, charts or downloads, sell at shows or to shops, this book will help you. It discusses choosing design software, what and how to design, how to put the actual products together in a form you can sell and lots, lots more.

I still have a chapter or two to complete but watch this space. Of course there will be a pre-launch special offer for all readers of this newsletter who drop me a note expressing their interest.

Well I guess with work to be done I shouldn't be sitting here should I?

Thank you for subscribing

Lastly I would like to thank everyone of you for signing up for my newsletter. If you know anyone else that might like to receive it please let them know.

Regards,

Carol
