Stitchin'Time - your questions answered February 28, 2010 |
Happy New Year!OK, so I’m a bit late for that. And Valentine’s Day has passed by also, while I have been working on this newsletter. Don’t you just find that life gets in the way sometimes?
I am happy to report that my health problems are well under control now and I’m raring to go! Are you ready?
New Additions to the siteSo what do I have for you in this issue of Stitchin-Times? Well for those of you stitching along with me, we have the last band in our Whitework Sampler. A simple one to finish it off, we will be working a zig-zag band in diagonal 4 sided stitch. Please do write and let me know if you enjoy these stitch-a-longs and would like more.
For Valentine’s Day I created a cute little bunny and heart cross stitch pattern and even though we are almost into March now, there is always next year….
There is also an addition to the learn how to cross stitch page. I recorded a short video showing the continental method of stitching. I am planning to do many more videos now I have a decent camcorder, so do let me know what stitches you would like shown in this manner.
I am also still working on my new “Start your own needlework design business” ebook. Its nearing completion and then I will do a pre-launch at a reduced price! Be sure to let me know if you would like me to get in touch when its ready. Oh, and if you can come up with a better name, why not send it in? I might even offer a prize of a free copy if I choose your suggestion!
Village LifeWe are nearing the end (hopefully) of a very cold English winter, the worst for many years. I am quite fed up of snow, ice and freezing temperatures! I will be glad to say goodbye to it.
Sadly we had to say goodbye to Clover recently. She had been a loyal companion for many, many years and it was heartbreaking losing her. Poor Skye was rather confused, perhaps thinking that Clover was out for a very long walk. But she seems to have adjusted to being an only dog. At least she doesn’t have to share the small space under my desk with my feet and another dog now.
My husband keeps scouring the local rescue sites and telling me about some poor creature that needs a new home. But, so far, I have managed to resist! I’m not sure how long that will last though….
At present I am occupied with this year’s village pantomime. We are doing Humpty Dumpty and the performances are only three weeks away, so wish me luck? As usual I sit behind the curtains, prompting the actors when/if they forget their words.
Stitching NewsIf you are able to get to Woverhampton, England in the next month you might like to POP by an exhibition they are currently holding. On show are incredible cloth sculptures by POP artist Jann Haworth. You can find more information and see pictures of some of them at the Wolverhampton Arts and Museums site.
I also heard recently from Yvette Stanton, who has written a book for all the left handed stitchers out there. You can sign up at Amazon to be notified whenThe Left-Handed Embroiderer's Companion
I will finish with a shameless plugI have had so much fun with my Web sites that I decided to purchase another at Christmas time. In fact I got two, and gave one to my daughter, Becky. She is in the process of getting a kids crafts site online, and has pictures of my grandsons demonstrating the finished products. So cute!
Thank you for subscribingLastly I would like to thank everyone of you for signing up for my newsletter. If you know anyone else that might like to receive it please let them know.
