I received a lovely letter in the post this week, from another Carol. I would love to share it with you.
"I have spokent to you on the phone several years ago.
I would now like to say "Thank you" for your chart "Welcome Baby". Its the most used one in my collection, usually I only do them once. However, I have used my version of it fifteen times (still doing the last one).
I have "tweaked" it a bit, mainly the letters and numbers. I do the lacy pattern for girls and the rocking horses for boys. I enclose two photos so you can see how they look. Usually I have made them for my own great-grandchildren, but I have done them for other babies as well. I find that the design I have used will fit nicely into an 8" square frame.

This time last year I had a stroke, almost better now (even driving again) but I found that if I used Aida (with guide holes) I could still do cross stitch etc. with very little trouble. In fact, this is the fifth one since then! I have some difficulty with the horses, presumably because of the squares.
I'e even now done the windmill set, after promising myself I would. I've done them altogether on on piece of Aida, lining up the ground lines, and framed them in dark blue with light blue mount. They look lovely if I do say so. I took them to my stitching group, where they were much admired, thank you for them also.
Please don't think you need to reply to this letter. I know you are very busy. I just wanted to say thanks,
All the best
Carol
Well, Carol I would like to say thank you to you. Many people in this world are quick to criticise or complain but it takes someone special to take the time to say thank you and I really appreciate it. I am so glad that you have enjoyed stitching the baby sampler (over and over again) and the windmills. Thank you for picking my designs.
Now a question for you, the reader of this page. When did you last thank someone? Not just a quick "thanks" but one that took some time and effort and meant a lot to the recipient? Maybe we should all do it a bit more often?
